As I think you know, I've also moved through cancer to renewed health on the other side. Diagnosed 2005. Treatment 2006. Meds with challenging side effects for 5 years. Things look good but you never know so staying in the moment required.
Unplanned paths with truly remarkable, sometimes magical, moments to balance the difficult. I wish you all the best as you tackle what's in front of you now.
According to your wonderful daughter (coffee with her last week a highlight for me!), you are her Hero.
I love your writing and would like to read more. It runs the emotional gamut, possesses honesty, and captures the details that stay etched in your mind as you stop to grasp some new scary or disarming thought while staring at person, event, thing, moment in time. You really brought back the chemo salon for me - the physical details and the inner mental gymnastics that go along with each visit.
If I can ever help, especially with support for Maddie, please let me know. And by the way, I think you are a helluva mom/writer.
Back in Portland tonight. Friendship mandatory.
